EXECUTIVE TEAM

PETER H. SCHIFRIN, RPA

President & CEO

Peter began his insurance career in 1984. He is the son of the company’s founder, Leslie Schifrin. As a licensed adjuster and private investigator, he has extensive experience with a wide variety of claims, including property, casualty and many specialty lines.

Peter is the President of the National Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters after previously serving as Western Region VP. He is also a Past President of the California Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters and the Pacific Claim Executives Association.

He is a member of the California Department of Insurance Curriculum Board and is a Past President of the Society of Registered Professional Adjusters.

Peter frequently presents educational classes to insurers and groups such as the CLM, CAIIA, and PLRB on topics including the California Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations, the California SIU Regulations, Good Faith Claims Handling, and First and Third-Party Coverage Analysis and Claims Investigation.

RICHARD KERN

Partner/Regional Manager

Richard has been adjusting and administrating claims for over 35 years and is Partner in our San Diego office. He specializes in Third Party Claims Administration and heads our Subrogation department. He is the President of the California Association of Independent Insurance Adjusters. He is also an Education Provider/Director and provides instruction in the California Fair Claims Settlement Practices Regulations. He has extensive experience in mediating claims and litigation management.

REBECCA LUCAS

VICE PRESIDENT - PROPERTY AND TPA OPERATIONS

Our Vice President – Property and TPA Operations, Rebecca Lucas, has over 25 years of experience in the insurance & construction industry. She handles both residential and commercial claims. She has extensive experience in adjusting earthquake losses, including the Northridge earthquake. As CAT manager she has handled multiple hurricane losses, the most recent being Hurricane Irma.

KIMBERLEY HICKEY

VICE PRESIDENT - IA SERVICES

Kim came to SGD with the acquisition of AIMS I/A Division. She has over 35 years of diversified experience in Property and Casualty claims.

As Vice President – IA Services, she oversees our field operations and is responsible for supervision and training of staff. She is also involved in handling of select complex claims.

KIM BIERCE GILMORE

SAN FRANCISCO BRANCH MANAGER

Kim is a multiline general adjuster with over 25 years of experience. Kim handles large commercial and residential property losses.

Her experience extends to areas including GKLL, Cargo and liability claims. In her previous employment she was the lead adjuster for a national insurer’s SIU.

IAN SANTOS

ACCOUNT MANAGER

Ian oversees a commercial auto TPA unit and is responsible for meeting the client’s needs and expectations. He is also charged with supervision, hiring and training of staff.

Ian has over 22 years of experience in auto and liability Claims, SIU, ADR, litigation and claims management. He also handled SIU litigated cases focused on medical fraud.

MONICA DIAZ

OPERATIONS MANAGER

With over 20 years of experience, Monica is a highly skilled and knowledgeable professional in operations and claims processing. She excels in conducting claims compliance audits and serving insurance companies. Monica also has a strong background in account management, inventory control, and employee development.

In her role as Operations Manager at SGD, Monica collaborates with a diverse network of professionals from various departments. Her role encompasses vendor relations and management, as well as providing support to the staff and ensuring that the company's operational needs are consistently met.
